Award-winning singer/songwriter Phil Vassar electrified crowds during performances with Hunter Hayes and STYX’s Tommy Shaw leading up to the CMA Awards.

Vassar, who’s continuing his #noPHILter tour across the country, collaborated with Hunter Hayes on Vassar’s smash hit “Just Another Day in Paradise” Monday night outside Bridgestone Arena. The crowd sang along with Vassar and Hayes during the free outdoor concert that spilled into the streets of Music City’s downtown. Hayes and Vassar shared the stage with Cole Swindell, Striking Matches, Charles Kelley, Eric Paslay, Dave Barnes, Will Hoge, Chris Janson and Danielle Bradbery.

During Sunday’s Off The Record event benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, Vassar joined celebrities, designers and musical guests for the elite event and fashion show. The runway lit up during Vassar’s star-studded performance with STYX’s Tommy Shaw, which included a captivating rendition of the rock hit “Blue Collar Man (Long Nights).” More than 400 guests enjoyed Vassar’s performance at Sylvia Roberts’ estate, best known for its appearance on ABC’s “Nashville.”

Vassar will cap off the week with additional #noPHILter dates while working on his latest album project, slated for release in 2016.

brian kelley second harvest 1kThere is something really special that happens when some of Nashville’s most talented musicians and fashion designers come together to support the community they love.

On Wednesday (Oct. 7), Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and his wife Brittney, Big Kenny and Christiev Alphin, Phil Vassar, Nashville star Charles Esten, GAC’s Nan Kelley and fashion designers Johnathan Kayne and Margaret Roberts gathered at Second Harvest Food Bank to announce a donation of 43,000 pounds of tomato products from Red Gold tomatoes to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. With more than 400,000 people in Second Harvest’s 46-county service area not knowing where their next meal will come from, the much-needed donation will go a long way to feed people in need.

“We’ve had a relationship with Second Harvest for a couple of years now and they’ve really taken the time to educate us on the hunger issue here in Nashville and around the country,” said Brian, who is a member of Second Harvest’s community council. “It means so much to us to be able to be here. We are so thankful that we are in a position to be able to give back, raise awareness and be a part of something that is so much bigger than ourselves”.

“The numbers are staggering,” added his wife Brittney. “To think that 400,000 don’t know where their next meal will come from, it’s beyond us. There is no other place we would rather be this morning than helping out here at Second Harvest and looking for opportunities to get the word out.”

The donation is a part of Red Gold’s partnership with the inaugural Off the Record Fashion Show taking place on Sunday, Nov. 1 at Sylvia Roberts’ home, which doubles as Rayna James’ home on ABC’s Nashville. Carl Black and Patron are also sponsors of the event. Tickets for the event are $500 each, with a portion of the proceeds going to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

The evening will feature designers from around the world including Gucci, John Varvatos, Peter Nappi, S. Carter, Amanda Valentine, Johnathan Kayne, MINXX by Margaret Roberts and Tribe Kelley by Brian and Brittney Kelley. Icelandic indie-pop act Kaleo will perform an acoustic set, while Chase Bryant, Big Kenny, Old Dominion and The Cadillac Three will be doing full-band performances throughout the evening. Tommy Shaw of Styx and Phil Vassar are set to perform during the fashion show.

“Fashion, music and charity. There are lots of big voices and talented people for a good cause,” added Brian.

For more information on the event, which is being produced by Neste Event Marketing and Entertainment Buy, or to purchase tickets at $500 each, go to the Off the Record Nashville website.
